Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 30, 2026
1. Our Commitment to Privacy
PawFormatter ("we", "us", "our") is fundamentally a privacy-focused service. This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to protecting your privacy. Our core principle is simple: your data is your data. We do not and cannot view, access, store, or share the content you format or convert. All processing happens entirely on your own computer, within your web browser (client-side).
1.1 The Client-Side Principle
Unlike many online data tools, PawFormatter does not upload your input to a server for processing. The beautifying and conversion features are powered by JavaScript libraries that run directly on your device. This means the data you paste or open — which may include configuration files, API payloads, or other sensitive information — never leaves your computer, giving you the highest level of privacy.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Because of our client-side architecture, we are technically incapable of collecting the following:
- The content of the JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, or TOON data you paste, upload, format, or convert.
- Any personal data, secrets, or credentials contained within that data.
- The filenames of any files you open with the tool.
- Any derived information or metadata from your data, beyond what is needed for the tool to function during your active session (which is discarded as soon as you leave the page).
3. Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or process the content of your data, and we run no first-party analytics or telemetry. Specifically:
- No first-party analytics scripts.
- No first-party tracking of your formatting or conversion activity.
- No usage telemetry sent by us.
- No error reporting to our own external services.
Your data processing stays completely private and remains on your device. However, this site is ad-supported, and our advertising partner may set cookies and collect certain technical data as explained below.
4. Advertising & Third-Party Cookies
PawFormatter is a free, ad-supported service. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. To serve ads, Google and its partners may:
- Use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and general interaction data with ads.
- Use the DoubleClick/advertising cookie to serve ads across the web.
Importantly, this advertising has no access to the data you format or convert — your data never leaves your device and is never shared with Google or any advertiser.
You can control or opt out of personalized advertising:
- Manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
- Opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Review how Google uses data at Google's partner sites policy.
5. Third-Party Libraries
PawFormatter is built using trusted, permissively licensed open-source libraries, including js-yaml, smol-toml, fast-xml-parser, and the TOON reference library. These libraries run entirely in your browser and do not transmit your data anywhere. We encourage you to review their respective projects for your own peace of mind.
6. Security
Since your data is never transmitted over the internet to our servers, you are protected from potential data breaches during transit or storage on a server. The security of your data is in your hands and protected by the security of your own computer and web browser.
7. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
